Current projects

Women skill development through upcycling

DIGNITY ALLIANCE FOUNDATION has initiated skills development projects to rovide alternative livelihood opportunities at their homes. Most of the target population is covered from the villages, where many families migrate to metro cities in search of employment. Migration is both seasonal and permanent. Many families settled in the slums of NCR. Therefore, we felt to start skills development for women and girls of migrant families.

We are working on the women’s skill development through the basic stitching and tailoring skills, and skill development in the area of upcycling, especially waste fabric, etc.

Upcycling is an innovative process that transforms waste materials, discarded items, or unwanted products into new, functional, and often higher-quality creations. Unlike traditional recycling, which typically breaks down materials into lower-grade raw forms, upcycling preserves the integrity of the original materials and repurposes them in creative
ways. This results in products with added value, extending the lifespan of the material and
reducing the need for new resources.
